Marleen Vermeulen - Furniture Design

How can a piece of furniture permanently be part of an artist identity, and evolve with their style?
This is a question I tried to answer by contacting the Canadian nature painter: Marleen Vermeulen. We had a discussion about her identity and how her environment influences/accentuates her work.

The shape of the design is made to give a neutral impression and a wink to her love of nature and industrial sense of interior. It is a table for her to merge and create her colours, and intentionally be rough, so the colours will drip and reach every part of the piece.

Now the impression of it will always be of her most recent works. No matter how her works and taste will change and what future her art will have.
